El atajo para este artículo es MDE:UNITGAME.

Combining the lore and gameplay information for a unit may result in a large and unwieldy article. To prevent this it may be advantageous to create separate lore and gameplay articles. This page deals with writing gameplay unit articles.

This page has a counterpart dealing with writing unit lore articles.

The following are not all the possible sections that may or must be included. This must be determined on a case-by-case basis.

Article name[]

The name for a unit gameplay article is the name of the unit followed by a unique identifier string based on the name of the game being examined. For example:

Linking to gameplay articles[]

Use Template:Link to create inline links. For example:

{{link|marine|SC1}}

generates

marine

See the template for additional documentation.

Link to related pages[]

Affix Template:Game to the top of each article. See the template for documentation and usage examples.

General information box[]

All units should have a general information box.

Ability information[]

Abilities should be displayed using ability information boxes.

  • On more on how to create new boxes, please see the guidelines for creating new infoboxes, or
  • Refer to the code of existing boxes at Category:Ability boxes.

Upgrade information[]

Upgrades should be displayed using upgrade information boxes.

  • On more on how to create new boxes, please see the guidelines for creating new infoboxes, or

Research information[]

Any research options this units has should be displayed using ability and/or upgrade information boxes.

  • On more on how to create new boxes, please see the guidelines for creating new infoboxes, or
  • Refer to the code of existing boxes at Category:Ability boxes and Category:Upgrade boxes.

Images[]

Preference should be given gameplay images. Non-gameplay images from cinematics, story-mode scenes, rendered art, etc., are generally not useful for recognition purposes or demonstrating gameplay concepts. Additional images may be appended to a small gallery near the end of the article. A link to the unit's image category may accompany the gallery.

For general image usage guidelines, see Help:Images.

References[]

All articles should include a References section at the bottom. This may be done by adding the following code:

==References==
<references/>

or

{{ref}}

or for pages with lots of references

<div style="height:200px;width:100%;overflow:auto;"> {{reflist|2}} </div>

Claims on the utility of strategies should be sourced. One possible way is to reference gameplay videos from online repositories such as YouTube.

For more information, please see the guidelines for referencing.
