The Arclite 2717 was an Arclite siege tank utilized by Captain Marius Blackwood well into 2505, beyond when the Arclite was phased out of active service. It was extensively modified and customized, with a removed air conditioner to improve engine performance. Blackwood would mark the various kills he achieved on his siege tank into the tank's hull.[1]
Overview[]
The Arclite 2717 was utilized by Blackwood through his service. Early in his career, Blackwood flipped the tank, which was quickly fixed. Due to the death of his friend Cione because of friendly fire by a Crucio siege tank, Blackwood never gave up his Arclite, even when it became mandatory to replace the tank.
The tank served on Moria at the battle at the Kel-Morian Combine Remote Mining Station Four against protoss forces. The tank survived the initial attack and helped repel the protoss, but as the protoss withdrew Blackwood took it to destroy a wounded colossus retreating from the base. After a protracted battle, the Arclite 2717 landed the killing blow on the colossus, but was nearly overrun. Blackwood retreated and was picked up by a medivac dropship, but the dropship was intercepted by a phoenix and shot down. The Arclite 2717 was destroyed and Blackwood killed in the crash, and the Phoenix pilot appreciated the markings on the siege tank before marking its kill of the tank on their ship's own hull.[1]
