The Asteria wraith is an elite wraith unit fielded by Matt Horner during the End War against Amon. They were part of the elite of the Dominion Fleet, and were augmented with mercenary technology from Mira's Marauders, enhancing their firepower and cloaking abilities.

Game Unit

Asteria wraiths are a unit available to Han and Horner in Co-op Missions, counting as a Horner unit and available from the Dominion starport. They are the most versatile of Horner's air units, capable of many functions at once.

Asterias have significantly improved technology compared to their regular counterparts. Most notably, Asteria wraiths use a stronger and more versatile burst laser, used for both air and ground targets with vastly improved effect and rate of fire (compared to the standard wraith used in the Campaign or those used by Swann). Asterias can be upgraded to permanently cloak and gain double attack speed for every shot they fire, as well as tactical jump. All of these upgrades are important purchases as they improve survivability, firepower, and mobility. Asterias are overall well worth including in any army.

Cloaking Field

Cloaks the Asteria wraith, preventing enemy units from seeing or attacking it. A cloaked Asteria wraith will only be revealed by detectors or effects.

Tactical Jump

Asteria Wraiths, Deimos Vikings, and Theia Ravens can use Tactical Jump, warping them to any location, even if not visible. The aircraft is invulnerable while warping.
