Challenges are a tutorial mechanic in StarCraft II. Each challenge is 5 to 10 minutes long and teaches an aspect of StarCraft II gameplay.[1] The player gets a score.[2] In addition, players receive help on why they won or lost a game.[3]
Challenges are available through battle.net.[4] As of March 2012, Blizzard has made StarCraft Master, a new series of 30 challenges, available through custom games.[5]
For playing a challenge, the winner win achievements.[1]
Two examples of micromanagement challenges are Psionic Assault and Harbinger of Death.
