Challenges SC2 Game1

Old challenges screen

Challenges are a tutorial mechanic in StarCraft II. They are available through battle.net[1], under the Wings of Liberty campaign tab. They use Wings of Liberty's gameplay settings.

Each challenge is roughly 5 to 10 minutes long and teaches an aspect of StarCraft II gameplay.[2] For instance, two examples of original micromanagement challenges are Psionic Assault and Harbinger of Death.

The player gets a score[3], and will receive help on why they won or lost a game.[4] The player can unlock three different achievements per challenge depending on the final score's grade.[2]

In March 2012, Blizzard introduced StarCraft Master, a new series of 30 micromanagement challenges, available through custom games.[5]
