Colors are used to distinguish different players in StarCraft and StarCraft II.

In melee games as of April 2009 players can choose from 9 colors,[1] red, blue, green, purple, orange, light blue, gray, yellow, and pink.[2] In September 2007 players were expected to be able to choose from between 12 to 18 colors.[3]
Players will be able to choose their color before a match starts.[4]
