A combat knife is a piece of terran equipment. While not suited for combat use against many foes[1], ghosts were trained to wield combat knives with deadly precision[2], sometimes in conjunction with a pistol.[1]

It appears that spectres are also trained in the use of combat knives.[3]
It can at least be confirmed that Gabriel Tosh, himself a spectre, own and know how to handle a knife.[4]
