Cronus Wing is a military force of the United Earth Directorate, specializing in air and space combat, though is still capable of deploying ground forces. It was present in the Koprulu Sector during the Brood War. It made up a significant portion of the UED Expeditionary Fleet.
It is the counterpart of Atlas Wing.
History
The first recorded deployment of Cronus Wing was at the orbital blockade of Braxis, during the Protoss quest for the Uraj and Khalis Crystals. However, the blockade was destroyed by the Protoss taskforce under Artanis and Zeratul.[1]
After that unsuccessful mission, the Wing was seen at the Dylarian Shipyards, taking control of numerous Battlecruisers and defeating a Dominion Armada force in the aftermath of the raid.[2]
It took part in the capture of the Confederate Psi Disrupter on Tarsonis[3] and in the assault to the Dominion throne world of Korhal[4][5][6]
Trivia
Cronus Wing is likely named after the titan Cronus-the leader of the titans in Greek mythology.
