The Daelaam Ark is a protoss ark shuttle.

History

When Sarah Kerrigan attacked a colony of protoss scientists on Kaldir, they staged an attempt to send transport shuttles through warp conduits to Shakuras. However, the Ark launched from the other side of the planet, headed for Shakuras. Most of the crew went into stasis, and the ship contained many lifeforms such as ursadons.

Niadra and her brood overrun the ship

As the zerg wouldn't be able to get to the ship in time, Kerrigan implanted a special larva inside a protoss captive, Lassara. Lifting the veil that had prevented the protoss from teleporting Lassara onto the ship, Lassara was transported onto it automatically, at which point the larva was spawned, killing Lassara in the process. The larva grew into the broodmother Niadra, who crippled the ship's warp drive and killed every protoss on board in the process. The ship was left to drift with Niadra and her zerg left on board.

After some time, Niadra and her brood abandoned the ship, moving to the planet Adena to lay a trap for potential terrans in order to grow her brood.
