Dominion laborers are conscripted soldiers who do mining, repair and construction duties for the Terran Dominion. They are able to work together to accomplish construction projects quicker. As conscripts they could be swapped into troopers if the need for combat arose. In the alternate timeline where Arcturus Mengsk survived the Second Great War, the Emperor made liberal use of these conscripts against the armies of Amon.[1]
Dominion laborers are the worker unit for Arcturus Mengsk in Co-op Missions. Laborers are cheaper and quicker to build than most worker units, and multiple laborers (up to 10) can work on a single building to help speed up build time. Laborers can swap between suits to become Dominion troopers, should the need arise, and troopers can swap into laborers. Swaps can occur at any supply bunker or enlistment center. Laborers can also repair units, and the ability to swap suits means troopers in the field can switch duties to repair Royal Guard units at a moment's notice.
Laborers can be put under the Patriot Mode of imperial witnesses to be indoctrinated, which generates Imperial Mandate for every laborer with the status. As mining laborers are always in one place, this makes it beneficial to leave imperial witnesses over Mengsk's mineral lines, as they give substantial Mandate for calldowns.[1]
Applies your currently selected spray or decal to the terrain at the target location. Creates one charge every five minutes for a maximum of five charges. Each player may have only five sprays on the map at a time.
When this unit becomes Indoctrinated by an Imperial Witness, it increases Imperial Support by 1. Each point of Imperial Support generates 1 Imperial Mandate every 240 seconds.
When Amplified Airwaves is researched, Imperial Support is increased from 1 to 2. Mastery: +0.01 (+0.02 with Amplified Airwaves) Imperial Support per Laborers and Troopers Imperial Support mastery point. Up to a maximum 1.3 (2.6 with Amplified Airwaves) Imperial Support.
The laborer's "call to arms" ability was taken from the human peasant in Warcraft III.[2]
Trivia[]
Dominion trooper and laborer select, move and attack quotations change depending on the level of Imperial Mandate the player has. At 34 and below, they are more reluctant, at 34-67, they are more "regular," and at 67 and above, the quotes are patriotic and assured.[1]
