Dominion troopers are often conscripted frontline infantry for the Terran Dominion, who carry light armor and lack the training of other members of the Dominion Armed Forces. They can be equipped with various weapons to suit the situation, which are often considered more valuable than the troopers themselves. In the alternate timeline where Arcturus Mengsk survived the Second Great War, the Emperor made liberal use of these conscripts against the armies of Amon.[1]
Dominion troopers are the basic infantry option for Arcturus Mengsk in Co-op Missions. The troopers are cheap and quick to produce, but have low health and low firepower, however they are easily massable. They can be outfitted with weapons for different combat situations. They can be produced by Dominion laborers switching "suits" to the trooper suit, and vice versa. The weapons cost more than the troopers themselves. Troopers are also able to build supply bunkers, earthsplitter ordnance and missile turrets, with multiple troopers or laborers helping to speed up a construction project.
When in the area of an imperial witness at Mengsk Level 5, troopers and laborers will contribute to the generation of Mengsk's Imperial Mandate, allowing him to use powerful calldowns.
The Dominion troopers have access to three weapons, which change their unit type. When one of these troopers die or switch to a laborer suit, they will drop their weapon, allowing another Dominion trooper to pick them up:
Arms the Trooper with a more powerful weapon, especially effective against all unit types. When this unit dies, its weapon drops to the ground and can be picked up by other Dominion Troopers.
Can attack ground and air units.
Merchant of Death: B-2 High-Cal LMG now costs 40 minerals and 20 vespene gas and cannot drop when the Trooper dies, instead dropping a grenade that moves towards the enemy and explodes, dealing 200 damage within a radius of 2.5.
Usage
Notes
If a Trooper with a weapon is killed or switched to a Laborer suit, the dropped weapon will remain on the ground for 300 seconds before despawning and refunding 75% of its cost.

When this unit becomes Indoctrinated by an Imperial Witness, it increases Imperial Support by 1. Each point of Imperial Support generates 1 Imperial Mandate every 240 seconds.
When Amplified Airwaves is researched, Imperial Support is increased from 1 to 2. Mastery: +0.01 (+0.02 with Amplified Airwaves) Imperial Support per Laborers and Troopers Imperial Support mastery point. Up to a maximum 1.3 (2.6 with Amplified Airwaves) Imperial Support.
Dominion trooper and laborer select, move and attack quotations change depending on the level of Imperial Mandate the player has. At 34 and below, they are more reluctant, at 34-67, they are more "regular," and at 67 and above, the quotes are patriotic and assured.[1]
