Development[]

The following section contains information from a previous version of StarCraft II which is no longer valid.

Elite marines were intended to be Kel-Morian Combine mercenaries in the Wings of Liberty campaign.[1]

By the time Wings of Liberty was released, elite marines had been replaced by War Pig elite marines.[2][3]
