Eranis was a Khalai of the Khalai Caste.

Biography

Eranis was one of the Khalai Caste before Hierarch Artanis abolished the caste system. After Aiur was reclaimed, Eranis moved to Aldera. With the destruction of the Khala, Eranis found himself cut off from society, without close friends, family, or a close relationship with his tribal bloodline.

Out of loneliness and a loss of purpose, Eranis sought out a way to return to the Khala, and met Phase-smith Lantharis, who had created a device combining Nerazim and Purifier technology to create a facsimile of the Khala. However, his was an early prototype, and the energy feedback overwhelmed his nervous system. Eranis died in agony, scratching at his nerve cords stumps as he tried to pry off the device.

The mysterious circumstances of Eranis's death led High Executor Selendis to launch an investigation, eventually uncovering and dismantling Lantharis's operations. With no friends or family, Selendis herself carried out Eranis's last rites. His funeral was done nearby where he died as an attempt to galvanize those who ignored him in life. Knowing they could do nothing but try to improve their society, Selendis did the final rites and vaporized Eranis's body, spreading his ashes to the stars.
