A lyote is a creature found on Mar Sara[1], Nephor II[2], and Tarsonis.[3] They are scavengers, known for their echoing nocturnal howl.[4] They commonly preyed on rats.[5]
The lyote appears as a critter in StarCraft II.[4]
It originally had two tails, but lost one during development.[6]
