Flies are a species of tiny insects native to Earth. They were among the creatures that were brought to the Koprulu sector via the four supercarriers. They have appeared on planets such as Mar Sara.

Fruit flies (or Drosophila melanogaster) were one genus of flies that appeared in the sector. Terrans commonly utilized them for experiments, with some schools using them to teach mutation.
