Fredricks served as a Confederate Marine Corps captain during the Guild Wars. His role was to oversee recruiting sergeants in Tarsonis City.
His best recruiter was Harley Ross, a frequently unkempt marine who recruited in the poorer neighborhoods. He had the best recruiting numbers, so Fredricks didn't bother him about his appearance.[1]
