"Free Bird" is a music track composed by Allen Collins and Ronnie Van Zant and performed by The Blasters.[1][2]
History[]
"Free Bird" is a semi-obscure B-side track done by the New Downey band The Blasters about a man that leaves his loved one to travel. Music critic Humbert H. stated that it showed the "bloody but unbowed" attitude of a generation growing up under the iron fist of Arcturus Mengsk. The song was later banned by the Terran Dominion, and featured on the anti-Dominion compilation album Revolution Overdrive: Songs of Liberty.[1]
Lyrics[]
If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?
For I must be travelling on now
Too many places I've got to see
But if I stayed here with you, girl
Things just couldn't be the same
'Cause I'm free as a bird now
And this bird you cannot change
Bye-bye, it's been a sweet love
Though this feelin' I can't change
Please don't take it too badly
Lord knows, I'm to blame
But if I stayed here with you, girl
Things just couldn't be the same
'Cause I'm free as a bird now
And this bird you never change
And this bird you cannot change
Lord knows, I can't change
Lord help me, I can't change
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
