A species of vine of a tree that grew on the planet Garrxax was renowned for the properties of its sap. This sap could stick to neosteel like glue, but was highly flammable. When it came into contact with the mucus of the native zantar slug, the result was a massive explosion. However, as the tree and the zantar slug existed on separate sides of their native continent, contact was minimal, though researchers joked that the planet's constant tropical storms was the only thing that kept the reaction from burning the planet down.
In 2504, samples of the vine's sap were used in the defense of Krakulv Base, igniting the saliva of the zerg roaches made from assimilated zantar slugs and allowing the base's survivors to escape.
