Template:Characterbox no image Jacob "Nik" Nikolai, a Terran, was the mayor of Free Haven, the only colony of the planet of Bhekar Ro.

Biography

Things seemed relatively safe until the invasion of the Zerg Kulkulkan Brood arrived nearby, prompting Nikolai to send a transmission to the Terran Confederacy for aid, only to find out that the Confederacy was gone and overtaken by the new Terran Dominion. However, Dominion Emperor Arcturus Mengsk sent General Edmund Duke and his Alpha Squadron unit to help out, for his own reasons.

Nikolai played a minor role in Free Haven's defense against the Zerg; his leadership role was largely supplanted by Octavia Bren, in part because he was more interested in hiding than fighting.

When Alpha Squadron arrived and saved the colony from destruction from the Kukulkan Brood, General Duke effected a military overthrow of the colony, turining it to a fortress to use as a base-of-operations. After Alpha Squadron left the planet months later, Nikolai presumebly retook the role as the mayor of the town.
