"It's just business. Do what I say, and you'll walk out of here rich. Hell, I'll even give you a deal on a better arm."

- James Sykes to Elms(src)

James "Sirius" Sykes was a terran warhound pilot and lifelong mercenary.

BiographyEdit

Sykes in 2506

Sykes spent his younger years running with a dedicated merc band, where he befriended Rob "Cannonball" Boswell and Elms in particular. Elms went her own way, with Sykes saying he "owed" her a great deal. Sykes continues to rely on Cannonball's help for all of his biggest jobs. His time as a mercenary has seen him through a few good times, and a whole lot of bad.[1]

Altered TimelinesEdit

This article or section contains information derived from Co-op Missions, and should not be considered part of the official StarCraft storyline.

In a theoretical timeline where Tychus survived the Second Great War, Sykes was recruited into Tychus's new Heaven's Devils to fight in the End War against Amon's Forces, once again alongside Boswell.[1]

Just BusinessEdit

"Elms?"
"Long time, Sykes. You look like hell."
"Speak for yourself. I've still got both my arms"

- Sykes and Elms upon their reunion(src)

During or after the End War, Sykes lost his left eye. He had it replaced with an ocular implant.

"Just business"

After the Battle of Adena, Sykes ran with a new mercenary crew who operated out of the outpost of Last Junction. He was visited again by Elms, who offered to sell him jorium. However, Sykes double crossed Elms to steal her jorium haul, and had his mercenaries cohorts surround Elm's dropship. Sykes shot Elms's companion Turan, and offered that if Elms did as he said, they'd both walk away rich. Elms managed to grab Sykes's gun with her robotic arm, blocking his shot, then choked him on the floor before breaking his neck.[2]

Game UnitEdit

"Warhound walkin'!"

- Tychus Findlay on James Sykes(src)

Sirius is a heroic Warhound that can be deployed by Tychus Findlay in Co-op Missions. Sirius can deploy warhound turrets in an area, allowing him great flexibility in defensive situations. Unlike the regular Warhound, Sirius can attack air units.

AbilitiesEdit

Deploys an automated defensive turret. Holds up to 5 charges.
Turrets gain the same gear bonuses as Sirius himself, time out after 60 seconds, and can attack ground and air units.

TriviaEdit

  • In the Galaxy Map Editor, Sirius's SA-55 Thunderbolt Missiles are named "Tornado Missiles."
  • Sirius is the name of a real-world star, sometimes called the "Dog Star." Fittingly enough, Sykes pilots a mech named after a canine.
