"Afternoon, troops! Anyone want a beer? They're in the saddlebags."

- John Rosenberg(src)

John Rosenberg (or JR) is a terran miner who operated illegally on Cavir.[1]

Biography[]

"Mr. Rosenberg, you're under arrest. You're in violation—"
"Wait, what? Why?"
"Trespassing in zerg space. Mining without Dominion permits. Possession of contraband substance. Lack of common sense."

- John Rosenberg and Shivani Singh(src)

John Rosenberg was a miner, who prospected in the demilitarized zone. He became well antiquated with the Terran Dominion marines stationed at Camp Pitcairn, and was on a friendly basis with a number of them, who ignored his illegal mining operations.

Sometime after the peace treaty between the Koprulu sector's races, Rosenberg went out into the Tablelands with his vulture to prospect. However he was discovered by Lieutenant Shivani Singh, who was assigned to Cavir. Though her fellow marines liked Rosenberg, she ordered them to arrest him, with Park assuring him it would just be giving him a ride back to town. However, before they could arrest him the squad was attacked by a zerg lurker and two hydralisks.[1] The squad fought them off, but at the cost of Private Sofia Nantes. Singh still arrested Rosenberg, though her squad asked him to drive their APC, as their driver had just died.[2]

Later, Singh's APC was bombed, injuring her. Singh suspected that Rosenberg may be behind the attack, and Basch investigated him. However, after meeting with him he decided that Rosenberg's story cleared him from suspicion.[3]

Rosenberg meets his end in a lurker's jaws.

Soon, the terran settlements in the region were attacked by an unrelenting wave of zerg, and the terrans were forced to fall back to Camp Pitcairn, Rosenberg included. Rosenberg helped Doctor Zed Kazan in managing the wounded, using his vulture to help. He ran to get a medical kit from his vulture when a lurker burst through the ground, devouring him and his vulture.[4]
