The kakaru is an avian reptile native to Shakuras, an abundance being found at Kakaru Keys.[1]
Game Unit
Kakarus are the only critter in StarCraft that can fly, making them ideal for spying on enemies with queen parasites. If a kakaru is slain in-game, it disappears in a blue flash, similar to organic protoss units (though in their case, this is due to teleportation mechanisms).[2]
The kakaru automatically wanders unless ordered to hold position.
Notes
The kakaru resembles the prehistoric pterosaur and is similarly named to the kakuru, a small Cretaceous theropod named after a Rainbow Serpent of Australian Aboriginal mythology.
