The Maguro Brood is an isolated Zerg Swarm brood. They were targeted by the Cerberus Program in order to harvest specimens for their Dogs of War program, remaking their nervous systems for terran control. Their zerglings were the first to be taken.[1]

The name of the brood is a reference to Maguro, a prominent member of the Co-op Missions community.
