Maitana is a Khalai and former member of the Templar Caste, who was a close friend of Therun.

Biography

Maitana was a member of the Templar Caste, who served alongside Therun in the Daelaam. After the reclamation of Aiur and the destruction of the Khala, Maitana moved to Aldera, but like much of her race, found herself lonely and lacking any sort of purpose. Therun joined with a phase-smith named Lantharis, who was creating devices that could grant access to a facsimile of the Khala, in a place she described as a "new temple." However, Maitana refused to get involved.

Much later, Therun was found dead due to the device's energy feedback, and her death was investigated by the Purifier Talandar. Talandar confronted Maitana, and the two discussed the empty hole of purpose left in many of the Templar Caste after the Khala left them, and when there were no more wars to fight. Maitana helped guide Talandar to the "new temple" where Lantharis created the devices, and Talandar asked her to come to him if she wished to further discuss the emptiness she felt.
