The mecha baneling is a Mecha Swarm replication of a baneling created by Egon Stetmann to protect his sacred home of Bel'Shir. They were controlled via technopathy.[1]

This article or section contains information derived from Co-op Missions, and should not be considered part of the official StarCraft storyline.

Stetmann deployed these constructs during the End War. These banelings are equipped with an egonergy shield to protect them long enough to impact their targets, as well as the ability to launch themselves at targets and use its egonergy reserves as damage.[2]

Game Unit[]

The mecha baneling is a suicide attacker for Stetmann in Co-op Missions. These banelings can take damage to their energy reserves before their life total. They can be upgraded to launch themselves at enemies similar to the Hunter baneling, and use the remainder of their shield amount as damage.

Mecha banelings can be "recycled" when they die near a stetellite or Gary, and their parts will respawn into mecha zerglings at the mecha spawning pool. At level 13, mecha banelings provide double recyclable material.[2]
