The following section contains information from a previous version of StarCraft II which is no longer valid.

An extremely long-ranged missile launcher unit was being considered for the terran faction over the course of development for StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm. Produced from the factory, the rationale behind the unit was to provide a new dynamic in terran vs. terran multiplayer games, in order to make it easier for players to break siege tank lines more easily.[1]

The unit did not make it to final release, and the warhound's haywire missiles ability provided this anti-siege line ability.[1] Still, the missile launcher can be found in the game's beta files.[2]
