The mitoscarab is an arthropod-like lifeform native to Nelyth, discovered by Abathur. Its unique ability to split into two separate organisms thanks to a decentralized nervous system was useful for zerg banelings to assimilate, creating the splitter strain.

There are three versions of the mitoscarab. They have an identical appearance except for size.
