The Tal'darim Mothership was used by the Tal'darim under the command of Executor Nyon.

History[]

TaldarimExecutor SC2 Head1

Nyon, commander of the mothership

Tal'darim Executor Nyon commanded this ship during the battle between the Tal'darim and Raynor's Raiders at the Sigma Quadrant Worldship, an abandoned xel'naga worldship, in 2504. Jim Raynor and his Raiders, now allied with Valerian Mengsk, sought the final component to the xel'naga device. Having been defeated by Raynor on multiple previous encounters, Nyon personally entered the battle aboard this mothership, determined to protect the final artifact piece at all costs.[1]

Plot branch : Raynor's Raiders destroy the mothership

The Raiders destroyed the mothership, killing Nyon.[1]

Plot branch ends here

After defeating the Tal'darim forces, the Raiders retrieved the final component.[1]

The mothership projects an aura (within a range of 7.5) similar to that of a pylon or deployed warp prism[5] and will summon units to its location using the warp-in animation. This ability does not appear on the game unit's UI board. The mothership can be countered with a large number of Battlecruiser, especially focusing Yamato cannons, but care should be taken to avoid its vortex ability.[1]

Notes[]

  • The Tal'darim Mothership is simply referred to as the "mothership" in "Maw of the Void" and has the standard portrait. The name is derived from the map editor.
  • It's possible to complete the mission without destroying the mothership, but it requires a non-standard approach. If so, the executor's death quote is not given.
