The following is a list of former mutators. The penultimate mutator is listed first.

What We Do in the Shadows

This mutation applies to "Void Thrashing."

  • Darkness: Previously explored areas remain blacked out on the minimap while outside of player vision.
  • Shortsighted: Player units and structures have reduced vision range.
  • We Move Unseen: All enemy units are permanently cloaked.

Hot 'n' Cold

This mutation applies to "Void Launch."

  • Blizzard: Storm clouds move across the map, damaging and freezing player units in their path.
  • Lava Burst: Lava periodically burst from the ground at random locations and deals damage to player air and ground units.
  • Scorched Earth: Enemy units set the terrain on fire upon death.

Operation Cooperation

This mutation applies to "Lock & Load."

  • Polarity: Each enemy unit is either immune to yours or your ally's units.
  • Propagators: Shapeless lifeforms creep toward your base, transforming all of the units and structures they touch into copies of themselves.

Train of the Dead

The infested terrans on Tarsonis are everywhere. They're in the ground. They're on the trains. Before long, they'll be in your base. And you may never see them coming.

This mutation applies to "Oblivion Express."

  • Walking Infested: Enemy units spawn Infested Terrans upon death in numbers according to the unit's life.
  • Darkness: Previously explored areas remain blacked out on the minimap while outside the player vision.

The League of Vermillains

This mutation applies to "The Vermillion Problem."

  • Evasive Maneuvers: Enemy units teleport a short distance away upon taking damage.
  • Heroes from the Storm: Every attack wave will be led by a random Hero of increasing power. Each Objective point is also guarded by three random Heroes.

Of Mines and Miners

This mutation applies to "Miner Evacuation."

  • Mag-Nificent: Mag Mines are deployed throughout the map at the start of the mission.
  • Missile Command: Endless missile bombardments target your structures and must be shot down throughout the mission.

Locked & Loaded

This mutation applies to "Lock & Load."

  • Kill Bots: Invincible Kill Bots attack your forces until they hit their predetermined kill limit and shut down.
  • Mineral Shields:Mineral clusters at player bases are periodically encased in a shield which must be destroyed for gathering to continue.
  • Temporal Field: Enemy Temporal Fields are periodically deployed throughout the map.

In the Name of Love

This mutation applies to "Cradle of Death."

  • Concussive Attacks: Player units are slowed by all enemy attacks.
  • Purifier Beam: An enemy Purifier Beam moves across the map toward nearby player units.
  • Time Warp: Enemy Time Warps are periodically deployed throughout the map.

Call of the Void

This mutation applies to "Void Thrashing."

  • Void Rifts: Void Rifts periodically appear in random locations and spawn enemy units until destroyed.
  • Void Reanimators: Void Reanimators wander the battlefield, bringing your enemies back to life.

Scary Scavengers

This mutation applies to "Dead of Night."

  • Outbreak: Enemy Infested Terrans spawn continuously around the map.
  • Slim Pickings: Player worker units gather resources at a reduced rate, but resource pickups spawn throughout the map.

Aggressive Recruitment

This mutation applies to "Malwarfare."

  • Propagators: Reality warping sludges are crawling towards you. Anything they touch is turned into a copy of the sludge.
  • Speed Freaks: Enemy units have double their normal movement speed.
  • We Move Unseen: All enemy units are permanently cloaked.

Tax Day

This mutation applies to "Void Launch."

  • Fear:Player units will occasionally stop attacking and run around in fear upon taking damage.
  • Micro Transactions:Giving commands to your units costs resources based on the unit's cost.

Explosive Hunt

This mutation applies to "Part and Parcel."

  • Slim Pickings: Player worker units gather resources at a reduced rate, but resource pickups spawn throughout the map.

Call It A Comeback

This mutation applies to "Temple of the Past."

  • Avenger: Enemy units gain increased attack speed, armor, and life when nearby enemy units die.
  • Eminent Domain:Enemies gain control of your structures after destroying them.
  • Just Die!: Enemy units are automatically revived upon death.

Chain Explosions

This mutation applies to "Chain of Ascension."

  • Lava Burst:Lava periodically burst from the ground at random locations and deals damage to player air and ground units.

Resilient Rifts

This mutation applies to "Rifts to Korhal."

  • Just Die!: Enemy units are automatically revived upon death.

  • Double-Edged: Damage dealt by your units and structures is dealt back to them, but then healed back over time.
  • Going Nuclear: Nukes are launched at random throughout the map.
  • Mutually Assured Destruction: Enemy Hybrid units detonate a Nuke upon death.

Dance Dance Evolution

This mutation applies to "Mist Opportunities."

  • Moment of Silence: When a Heroic enemy unit dies all player units around it will reflect on their sins, unable to attack or use their abilities.
  • Speed Freaks: Enemy units have double their normal movement speed.
  • Transmutation: Enemy units have a chance to transform into more powerful units whenever they deal damage.

Knock Knock

This mutation applies to "Dead of Night."

  • Propagators: Reality warping sludges are crawling towards you. Anything they touch is turned into a copy of the sludge.

Getting Along

This mutation applies to "The Vermillion Problem."

  • Sharing is Caring: Supply is shared between you and your partner, and units from both armies contribute to your combined supply cap.

This mutation applies to "Chain of Ascension."

Ulnar New Year

It's a time for celebration, and Amon's starting it all off with a bang. Not only does he intend to overload Ulnar, he has outfitted his own minions with explosives as well. Make use of the resources being gifted to you and put a stop to Amon's plans.

This mutation applies to "Lock & Load," in celebration of the Chinese New Year.

  • Fireworks: Enemies launch a dazzling fireworks display upon death, dealing damage to your nearby units.
  • Lucky Envelopes: Festive envelopes containing resource pickups are dropped at random throughout the map.

Attrition Warfare

This mutation applies to "Void Thrashing."

  • Diffusion: Damage dealt to enemies is split evenly across all nearby units, including your own.
  • Minesweeper: Groups of Widow Mines and Spider Mines are buried throughout the battlefield.

Overclocked

This mutation applies to "Malwarfare."

  • Speed Freaks: Enemy units have double their normal movement speed.
  • Avenger: Enemy units gain increased attack speed, armor, and life when nearby enemy units die.
  • Photon Overload: All enemy structures attack nearby hostile units.

Temple of Rebirth

This mutation applies to "Temple of the Past."

  • Just Die!: Enemy units are automatically revived upon death.

Safety Violation

This mutation applies to "Miner Evacuation."

  • Self Destruction: Enemy units explode and deal damage to friendly player units upon death.

Doomsday Report

This mutation applies to "The Vermillion Problem."

Violent Night

You'd better watch out! Amon is exacting vengeance on those he deems naughty, and this most certainly includes you. There's still plenty of reason to be jolly-it's the season of giving, and there are gifts for everyone! But be warned: Amon does not like sharing.

This mutation applies to "Void Launch," and is Christmas themed.

  • Gift Exchange: Gifts are periodically deployed around the map. If you don't claim them, Amon will!

Well Trained

This mutation applies to "Oblivion Express."

This mutation applies to "Mist Opportunities."

Fowl Play

Your supply lines have been cut off, and you must work together with your ally in order to sustain your armies. Luckily, there is plenty of local wildlife to harvest. But proceed with caution. Who knows what a turkey is capable of when under threat?

This mutation applies to "Oblivion Express."

  • Turkey Shoot: Supply can only be generated by killing turkeys that wander through the map. Doing so may anger the turkeys that remain.
  • Sharing is Caring: Supply is shared between you and your partner, and units from both of your armies contribute to your shared supply cap.

Negative Reinforcement

This mutation applies to "Part and Parcel."

  • Fatal Attraction: When enemy units and structures die, any of your nearby units are pulled to their location.

  • Afraid of the Dark: Vision provided by all sources is extremely limited except when in view of your camera.
  • Trick or Treat: Civilians visit your Candy Bowl looking for treats, which are generated by spending minerals. If no treats are available, the civilians randomly transform into enemy units.

Chilling Adaptation

This mutation applies to "Miner Evacuation."

  • Blizzard: Storm clouds move across the map, damaging and freezing player units in their path.
  • Transmutation: Enemy units have a chance to transform into more powerful units whenever they deal damage.

Battle Hardened

Out of Sight

The most frightening monsters are the ones you can't see. Hordes of hidden infested lurk in the shadows, moving inexorably toward the evacuation shuttles. Amon's forces are cloaked as well, and he has deployed an invisible purifier beam against you. Bring detection as well as protection.

The Quick and the Dead

Field of Screams

Bel'Shir is littered with mines, and each one can only be destroyed by either you or your partner. You must work together in order to clear a path for Stetmann's bots. Communicate, coordinate, and conquer.

Mutation Creation Contest Winner

We are proud to present the winning entry of our first Mutation Creation contest, as designed and submitted by Saito. In this weekly challenge, vile replications of the Koprulu sector's greatest heroes inspire Amon's forces as they lay siege to Augustgrad. Do not back down in the face of their presence, and focus on saving the city.

This mutation applies to "Rifts to Korhal". Along with each attack waves, powerful enemy heroes will spawn. These heroes include Jim Raynor, Tychus Findlay, Nova Terra, Artanis, Karax, Zeratul, Kerrigan, Zagara and Dehaka. This mutation was the winning entry of the Mutation Creation Contest.

  • Heroes from the Storm: Every attack wave will be led by a random Hero of increasing power. Each Objective point is also guarded by three random Heroes.

  • Speed Freaks: The enemy moves faster than any unit a player has at their disposal.
  • Time Warp: The Time Warp ability will be used against allied commanders, slowing the movement and attack speed of their units. These areas of time distortion can be avoided.
  • Mag-nificient: Mag mines will be scattered all over the map, forcing armies to move with extreme caution. If you trip their proximity sensors, they'll fly straight towards the unit that triggered them, causing terrible, terrible damage to friendly units.

First Strike

With a powerful laser drill at his disposal, nothing is beyond Amon's reach. If he can see you, he can hit you. Charge in, and wipe him out.

Magnetic Pull

Amon's forces have deployed mag-mines on Char, and his mysterious power is manipulating your warriors, drawing them towards the corpses of their enemies. Plan your assaults carefully, or be ready for an explosive surprise.

This mutation is applied to "Void Thrashing."

  • Mag-nificent: Mag Mines are deployed throughout the map at the start of the mission.
  • Fatal Attraction: When enemy units and structures die, any of your nearby units are pulled to their location.
  • We Move Unseen: All enemy units are permanently cloaked.

Kill Bot Wars

As if Bel'Shir didn't have enough problems, it has now been invaded by vicious kill bots who are bent on destroying your armies. Your devastated forces are also feeling especially sentimental about those who fall. Stay focused on the harvesters to prevail.

This mutation is applied to "Mist Opportunities."

  • Kill Bots: Invincible Kill Bots attack your forces until they hit their predetermined kill limit and shut down.
  • Moment of Silence: When a Heroic enemy unit dies all player units around it will reflect on their sins, unable to attack or use their abilities.

Fear and Lava

Your armies have been surrounded, and their hearts are full of fear. The heat of the rising lava drives them into a panic as they break formation, placing their lives at greater risk as they run headlong into the molten sea. Work through the horror and gather the crystals when the lava subsides.

This mutation applies to "The Vermillion Problem."

  • Void Rifts: Void Rifts periodically appear in random locations and spawn enemy units until destroyed.
  • Fear: Player units will occasionally stop attacking and run around in fear upon taking damage.

Moths to the Flame

Amon is not above sacrificing his own servants to ensure your demise. His purification beam strafes the streets of Augustgrad as his minions pull your forces into the path of destruction. Keep your distance and be careful where you engage the enemy, lest your armies be incinerated.

This mutation applies to "Rifts to Korhal."

  • Fatal Attraction: When enemy units and structures die, any of your nearby units are pulled to their location.
  • Purifier Beam: An enemy purifier beam moves across the map toward nearby player units.
  • Alien Incubation: All enemy units spawn broodlings upon death.

Worn Out Welcome

The siege on the xel'naga temple has intensified. Amon's strongest creations embolden their minions as they break themselves upon your ramparts, only to rise again. Not only that, but they also attack your fortifications from afar. Endure the assault and keep the temple secure.

This mutation applies to "Temple of the Past."

  • Just Die!: Enemy units are automatically revived upon death.
  • Long Range: Enemy units & structures have increased weapon and vision range.
  • Inspiration: Enemy Heroic units increase the attack speed and armor of all enemies within a small range.

Instant Karma

It is said that you are your own worst enemy. Amon has turned that idiom into reality. The harm your allies inflict is dealt back to them in full, and every enemy's death threatens to take several of your own forces with them. Show Amon that no sacrifice is too great to achieve victory.

This mutation applies to "Chain of Ascension."

  • Double-edged: Damage dealt by your units and structures is dealt back to them, but then healed back over time.
  • Mutually Assured Destruction: Enemy Hybrid units detonate a Nuke upon death.
  • Self Destruction: Enemy units explode and deal damage to friendly player units upon death.

Slow and Steady

Amon's forces are determined to claim Bel'Shir's terrazine for themselves. They will stop at nothing to prevent you from reaching Stetmann's harvesters in time to save them. Move fast as you can to catch up to your enemies and end their assault.

This mutation applies to "Mist Opportunities."

  • Time Warp: Enemy Time Warps are periodically deployed throughout the map.
  • Speed Freaks: Enemy units have double their normal movement speed.
  • Concussive Attacks: Player units are slowed by all enemy attacks.

Charnel House

A sinister disease runs rampant on this bleak and desolate world. Amon's forces have repurposed the miners' defenses to target your armies instead of the infected. Brave the Darkness so that the survivors can escape this nightmare and live free from the contagion.

This mutation applies to "Miner Evacuation."

  • Darkness: Previously explored areas remain blacked out on the minimap while outside of player vision.
  • Photon Overload: All enemy structures attack nearby hostile units.
  • Black Death: Some enemy units carry a plague that deals damage over time and spreads to other nearby units. The plague spreads to your units when the enemy unit is killed

Hard Target

Amon has bolstered his Void thrashers with monstrous endurance, diminishing the effect of your assault against them and allowing them to completely ignore attacks from one of your armies. Split your forces and maintain communication to bring down this tenacious menace.

This mutation applies to "Void Thrashing."

  • Hardened Will: Enemy Heroic units reduce all incoming damage to a maximum of 10 when any non-heroic enemy unit is near them.
  • Polarity: Each enemy unit is immune to either your units or your ally's units.
  • Barrier: Enemy units gain a temporary shield upon the first time they take damage.

Futile Resistance

Unidentified lifeforms have been detected on Ulnar, consuming everything in their paths and replicating themselves as they advance. Amon's forces are focused on preventing your armies from escaping. Keep your distance and exterminate these pests before all is lost.

This mutation applies to "Lock & Load."

  • Propagators: Shapeless lifeforms creep toward your base, transforming all of the units and structures they touch into copies of themselves.
  • Temporal Field: Enemy Temporal Fields are periodically deployed throughout the map.
  • Concussive Attacks: Player units are slowed by all enemy attacks.

Cold is the Void

Tarsonis is experiencing the harshest winter it has seen in years, and Amon intends to take full advantage of it. Withstand both the biting cold and the seething Void, and strike down Amon's minions for good.

This mutation applies to "Oblivion Express."

  • Blizzard: Storm clouds move across the map, damaging and freezing player units in their path.
  • Void Reanimators: Void Reanimators wander the battlefield, bringing your enemies back to life.
  • Void Rifts: Void Rifts periodically appear in random locations and spawn enemy units until destroyed.

Warning: this combination of mutators is especially challenging.

Dead Heat

The laws of nature seem to have been upended. Liquid magma spews forth not only from Veridia Prime, but also from the hostile forces intent on its destruction. Death itself pulls inescapably at your forces, but enemies seem immune to its touch. You must survive this onslaught and save the planet.

This mutation applies to "The Vermillion Problem."

  • Fatal Attraction: When enemy units and structures die, any of your nearby units are pulled to their location.
  • Self Destruction: Enemy units explode and deal damage to friendly player units upon death.
  • Walking Infested: Enemy units spawn Infested Terran upon death in numbers according to the unit's life.

Delivery Guaranteed

All of the Dark God's might is focused on ensuring his shuttles escape Kaldir. Void energies shield his forces from harm and invigorate them with unnatural fortitude. All of his nuclear ordnance is being unleased indiscriminately upon the battlefield. Amon is committing to everything, and you must respond in kind. The shuttles cannot be allowed to escape.

This mutation applies to "Void Launch".

  • Just Die!: Enemy units are automatically revived upon death.
  • Going Nuclear: Nukes are launched at random throughout the map.
  • Barrier: Enemy units gain a temporary shield upon the first time they take damage.

Certain Demise

Amon's champion seethes with power. His supplicants offer their lives up to the rite, but their service does not end there. Reanimators are on hand to return them to service in an endless, violent cycle. You must protect the First Ascendant or else all will be lost.

This mutation applies to "Chain of Ascension".

  • Avenger: Enemy units gain increased attack speed, armor, and life when nearby enemy units die.
  • Void Reanimators: Void Reanimators wander the battlefield, bringing your enemies back to life

Frostbite

Harsh winter winds scour the landscape as the dead rise from the ground and Amon's forces have deployed mag mines throughout the area. Hold your ground, avoid both the blizzards and the mines, and purge the planet of its growing infestation.

This mutation applies to "Dead of Night".

  • Mag Nificent: Mag Mines are deployed throughout the map at the start of the mission.
  • Blizzard: Storm clouds move across the map, damaging and freezing player units in their path.

Sudden But Inevitable

Amon's corruption is overtaking everything and everyone. Soon even your closest ally will betray you. It's clear no one can be trusted. There is only one option left: destroy them before they destroy you!

This mutation applies to "Stepps of Betrayal." It is a one-day mutator for April Fool's 2017. In this mutator, the allied commanders are fighting one another in a standard ladder battle, only with their respective commander, on the Steppes of War map. This mutator awards no exp aside from its bounty bonus (and first win of the day bonus, if applicable). After the match, both players will get the "defeat" screen, but both will have gain the full bounty experience as if they had won the match.
