The omegalisk was a concept for the [[ultralisk]] in ''StarCraft II''. It had spiked tentacles in addition to kaiser blades. The tentacles could attack multiple opponents. This version is often referred to as an "Uberlisk" to separate it from the finished campaign unit. <ref name = "WWIArt">Samwise Didier, Dave Berggren. The omegalisk is a zerg heavy assault strain in the same vein as the ultralisk but substantially larger. It was the ultralisk concept for StarCraft II but ended up as a special campaign unit.

History

An omegalisk was used to defend the tunnels beneath Char which housed Sarah Kerrigan's nydus network.[1]

Dark Prelate Zeratul observed omegalisks in an apocalyptic vision of the future. The creatures were part of Amon-controlled Swarm that annihilated the protoss during their last stand.[2]

Game Unit

In the StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty mission, "In Utter Darkness", an omegalisk is located in each of the three zerg bases. No research points are awarded for killing them (but are counted in the kill score).[2]

One appears in "Belly of the Beast", attacking destructible rocks which General Horace Warfield's marines hide behind.[1]

It uses the ultralisk potrait and model, albeit a larger one.

The omegalisk

The omegalisk was a concept for the ultralisk in StarCraft II. It had spiked tentacles in addition to kaiser blades. The tentacles could attack multiple opponents.[3]

The ultralisk tentacles were reverted because the skewering was too "random".[4]
