Ozmel Dodds was a terran scientist.
During the Brood War he was a senior scientist at a Terran Dominion bio-weapons testing facility in the Broken Mesa on Korhal. Scientists developed a new and potentially devastating plasma-pulse weapon prior to the United Earth Directorate assault on Korhal. The weapon was put into testing in hopes it could be used against the approaching enemy fleet.
Dodds turned traitor during the final testing phase to curry favor with the UED. On the date of the final test he changed the weapon's pulse-modulation frequency. This caused the awesome cannon to overload, destroying itself and the research facility that housed it.
