Perdition turrets are automated terran-designed base defense structures. Their weapons come from scrounged firebat suits, and have gained a permanent place in terran arsenals.[1]

Game Structure

The turret is available in the StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty campaign. It is acquired at 10 zerg research points in the laboratory and at the cost of being able to use planetary fortresses.[2]

The turret is meant to supplement bunkers. They provide close-in protection for bunkers against groups of low health units like zerglings. This can be very helpful, as the player will not need to station firebats inside bunkers for close-range defense, leaving room for other infantry units.

Abilities

Perdition turrets automatically burrow underground when not in combat, and automatically unburrow to engage. Like the supply depot, burrowing does not hide the Perdition turret from non-detectors.[3]
