Plasteel is a clear substance of terran design, akin to glass.[1]
It is known to be used on capital ships in the quarters of high-ranking officers such as generals and admirals, allowing them a view into space. This is in contrast to other individuals, who were afforded no such luxury.[1] The view hatch of T-280 space construction vehicles consisted of plasteel windows. With sustained assault, zerglings are capable of weakening the plasteel within a relatively short period of time until it cracks and a sickle punched through it to harm the pilot.[2]
Plasteel is also used for containers[3] and lines the warheads of backlash rockets.[4] There were also plasteel welding rigs, used for jobs like assembling vehicles.[2]
