"Man, did ya see the size of that protoss ship? Don't matter how often I see 'em, those guys always come out with something that makes your jaw drop."

A purifier attacks a colony base on Haven.

A purifier was used by High Executor Selendis to attack the terran colony on Haven during the Second Great War; the protoss detected zerg infestation spores amongst the colonists and moved to liquidate them. Commander Jim Raynor refused to condemn the colonists who had not yet manifested symptoms of infestation. The ship was destroyed by Raynor's Raiders and the colony was saved.[2]

A purifier reappeared as a major staging ground during the reclamation of Aiur, teleporting units to Kherrisan.[3]

Game Unit[]

The StarCraft II mothership had the "Planet Cracker" ability during development.[4] The ability is used by the Purifier.[2]

The purifier projects an aura similar to a pylon or warp prism, enabling units to be warped-in.[5] The Purifier can summon air units.[2]

If "Safe Haven" is played on Brutal the Purifier can detect cloaked and burrowed units. It can be countered with heavy anti-air options, but may be easiest with mass vikings. During the approach, if attacked from the opposite side it's moving toward, the Purifier can be attacked without it triggering its black hole and warp in abilities.
