Queens (or brood queens) appear in StarCraft II, corresponding to their StarCraft I counterpart.
Game Unit[]
Legacy of the Void[]
Queens appear in the Legacy of the Void campaign frequently under the control of Amon, as they were among the feral zerg on Aiur that he took control of. They retain their parasite, ensnare, and spawn broodling abilities, and can also spawn creep tumors. They are likewise featured in Nova Covert Ops.
In the Legacy of the Void single-player campaign, their ensnare ability does not reveal cloaked units.
Upgrades and Abilities[]
Infects target enemy biological unit with a parasite that grants the player shared vision with that unit.

Slows attack and movement rates of enemy units in the area of effect by 50%.

The queen forces a creep tumor out of her bowels.[1]
Alternatively, each creep tumor may create a single additional creep tumor, using the same build time but no energy cost. This changes the tumor's appearance.
Creep tumors can only be created upon the creep, and within a range.

Co-Op Missions[]
This article or section contains information derived from Co-op Missions, and should not be considered part of the official StarCraft storyline.
|
Stukov fields this kind of queen in Co-op Missions, where they are referred to as "brood queens." They serve as a support spellcaster, which can grant units detection, slow and damage units, and use spawn broodlings on ground and air units.
A brood queen is a possible gift that can be gained during the "Gift Exchange" mutator.[2]
Upgrades and Abilities[]
Deals 300 damage to a target enemy ground or air unit. When the unit dies the target spawns 2 Broodlings from its corpse.

Development[]
The following section contains information from a previous version of Heart of the Swarm which is no longer valid.
|
The queen was included in the Galaxy Map Editor for StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm but did not appear in the game.[3]
Notes[]
The queen's spawn creep tumor ability is only seen in the Map Editor, as in Legacy of the Void campaign they are never seen using this ability.
Queens have a similar portrait to Locusts.
