Recon 09 was a recon group attached (and seemingly part of) the Confederate Marine Corps. It participated in the Battle of Fire Base Chimera, confirming to Command Bravo that the incoming forces were hostile. Whether it survived the battle, not to mention the action on Mar Sara as a whole, is unknown.
