A number of spectre pods on Tartarus

Spectre pods are a containment unit, used to keep spectres in stasis. A number of these pods were used on Tartarus by the Terran Dominion[1] and by Jackson Hauler during the Spectre Rebellion.[2] The pods use cryogenic fluid.[3]

These pods were single occupant cryonic life support chamber used for preserving spectres until they could be released onto the far reaches of the universe. Colonel Jackson Hauler held these aboard Gehenna Station, and hoped to use these spectres to overthrow the Terran Dominion.

When Nova and Zangakkar infiltrated Gehenna Station, they destroyed as many of these pods as they could. Nova and Zangakkar would escape the exploding base in two empty spectre pods. However, after Hauler's final defeat, he launched what pods he could. Nova swore he would hunt down all those who escaped.[4]

Spectre pods would appear in the fifth set of missions for StarCraft: Ghost.

Notes[]

Spectre pods make an appearance in StarCraft: Ghost: Spectres, when Hauler reveals spectres made from resocialized terrans he had in stasis, created using the psi indoctrinator. At the end of the novel, Gabriel Tosh would take several of these pods for himself to restart the program.[2]
