Overview[]

A star relic in 2502

Many times the size of a Wanderer,[1] star relics can transport numerous protoss within them.[2][3] They can function only with a single pilot however.[4]

They can extract vespene gas from orbit.[5]

Game Unit[]

The star relic is represented through the Void Seeker in the campaign of Wings of Liberty, and the Whispers of Oblivion prequel campaign for Legacy of the Void. However, in both cases, the unit is uncontrollable.[2][3][5]

Development[]

The following section contains information from a previous version of StarCraft II which is no longer valid.

The star relic, pre-cancelation (similar to the oracle)

The star relic was a protoss aerial support unit in the development of StarCraft II. It was later canceled during development and replaced by the stasis orb, which in turn was cancelled and replaced by the disruptor (now the sentry).[6]

The star relic cloaked nearby units and buildings when it was stationary. It had the Detonate ability and cast the hallucination spell.[7] It was warped in at the stargate and required a fleet beacon to be produced. The fleet beacon researched its special abilities.[8]
