A stasis cell is a protoss device used to keep organisms in suspended animation. They could be used for general storage (ex. hybrids),[1] medical storage (ex. Taldarin[2] and Eredas)[3], or even for incarcerating individuals (ex. Tassadar,[4] Mojo[5] and Ulrezaj). They can also be used to aid in preserving corpses.[6] Stasis cells are considered holy by the protoss.[7]
Precise control is required for cells to function optimally. In the case of cells supported by khaydarin crystal-based pylons it was more difficult for terrans to keep cells stable.[1]
Although an object generally emerged in the same physical condition as when it was inserted the conditions inside the cell might not be perfectly static, especially in cases of imperfect control. Creatures trapped within might emit psionic energy[1] or even communicate psionically with the outside world, as Mojo demonstrated.
Alan Schezar[5][8] and Samir Duran[1] both demonstrated some ability to control and use them.

Jenson Archimedes utilized stasis cells in his research on the zerg during the Aridas campaign.[9]
Notes[]
- The stasis cell uses the same portrait as the dragoon.
- While a Protoss structure, the stasis cell doesn't have shields.
