Raynor's Raiders iconEdit

Raynor's Raiders uses the current icon. I think we should use the brood war iconography for them on this article, because the logo they used in the Brood War is yellow. Andra2404 13:37, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

I agree. A flag probably lies in Meco's department.--Hawki 10:05, October 18, 2010 (UTC)

Over three hours of constant editing...tired...

Anyway, melodrama aside, I've done another overhaul, similar to SGW. And like that edit, I feel compelled to give some pointers on the rationale behind some things that will probably generate discussion:

  • Bhekar Ro and Dark Vengeance...I've removed/diluted them from the main body, as neither really have much effect on BW itself. BR only has a brief mention of BW at the end and the conflict never really had any effect on its outcome. Likevise, DV was mostly a seperate, concurrent conflict, though given its timeframe, I gave it a brief mention.
  • Main articles...this is more of a general issue, and one that some will no doubt disagree with. Going by wikipedia and MoS, I don't think we should cut into text that link to articles that hardly provide any more detailed info than what we already have. And if they do, links within the text are fine. The only time I think it should be used is at the top of a sub-section, and where it pertains to the entire sub-section. Dark Origin and Omega are examples of this-don't cut into text, and they're relevant to all the posted material.
  • Flags...went over the BW boardgame, and it seems that the Protoss Empire was effectively still active, since it uses the Ara Tribe standard as its protoss symbol, rather than the current protoss logo (which seemingly pertains to the protoss protectorate).

Think that's it.--Hawki 10:05, October 18, 2010 (UTC)

Edit: UED info needs to be added to the Aftermath section. Out of time I'm afraid.--Hawki 10:08, October 18, 2010 (UTC)

It's a little different from Wikipedia, as they're covering real wars with far more detail, but IMO all the important battles should be linked, and not just within text, but made clearer. Hence the use of "main" templates. The point of a huge war article is to direct visitors to the lore links; at least some won't just want to read the overview. The links need to be there.

Wikipedia has a different "main article" template that works like this: {{See|The Holocaust|Consequences of German Nazism|Japanese war crimes|Allied war crimes during World War II}} resulting in something like this. It let them put the article links in a slightly less disruptive fashion. Putting in links in a different way is fine, but the links must be there and they must be clear.
