Does anyone know what that thing is in the top left image of the sneak-peak? I've never seen anything like that before. It looks like it is using a psi blade and a terran sidearm of some sort. Do you think that they would put a spectre in the books/graphic novels so soon? Or do you think this is something else? I'm pretty sure it's human (or at least part human.) It's certainly not protoss. --Thebrowncloud 22:15, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

It's always possible that it's just a really jacked up ghost, but this looks different. The top left part of the image shows it half cloaked. The bottom part of the image, however, shows what looks like nerve tendrils like the protoss.... or perhaps dreadlocks... Tosh? --Thebrowncloud 22:19, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure it's a protoss. If we assume that there's one image per story, the ones corresponding to Weapon of War Part 2 and the lounge-singer are pretty obvious, which leaves us with the two protoss ones. I'm guessing it's a protoss who's become a yautja wanabee and I'm guessing corresponds to Why We Fight Part 2. Maybe one of Burgress' experiments got out of hand

Still, a Spectre is another key possibility, that it's actually a psyblade rather than a psi-blade that's being used and that the nerve endings are some kind of neural implants. I wouldn't be surprised about Spectres appearing, as elements of Ghost have made their way into other media including Vol. 1 and Spectres will appear in the novel anyway, regardless of whether they're in SCII or not. Still, given the nature of the stories, I can't see a Spectre playing a key role, unless it somehow pertains to Why We Fight. Ghosts would at least fit in with that story's context.--Hawki 22:40, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

I guess the thing I thought was a spectre was actually a protoss-terran mixed unit. How we're supposed to determine that is a little ambiguous, though. It could just be a terran using protoss technology, or an actual genetic modification of a terran soldier. Looks like we'll have to wait until it comes out! --Thebrowncloud 17:52, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

Read the new descriptions ... Burgess is working on some sort of "terran-protoss hybrid". And no, a spectre isn't a terran-protoss hybrid, although they can use protoss tech. I expect spectres will be dealt with in StarCraft: Ghost: Spectres. PSH aka Kimera 757 (talk) 22:14, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

I meant that I previously thought it was a spectre, but that was before the recent updated descriptions came out (when we only had the image previews.) Reading it again, I guess it is definitely a genetic modification or even created complete 50-50 mix of protoss and terran DNA. Well, now we have every possible 2-race hybrid possible. If they make one that is a fusion of all three races, that would be lame... --Thebrowncloud 23:50, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
