Relevance to Starcraft...

I know I'm sounding like an asshole here, but isn't this article sort of REALLY off topic. I mean, it does relate to the UPL and all, but do we REALLY need to know about the Cold War to understand the Starcraft story? Sure, background info is nice, but this article to me seems to stink of American patriotism... (not to offend anyone)

Much of it seems to assert the view that America is awesome, especially democracy: "Terran Dominion propaganda labels the US as an empire built on innovation, particularly its system of government.".

Is it really necessary?

Forgive me if I am totally wrong, but that's just how I see it right now with just one glance.

The Cold War stuff can probably be cut.

The note about the government can stay if it was specifically noted in the propaganda. That bit is, after all, about how the USA is perceived by the official Dominion line.

On an ancillary note, there are probably nation articles floating around that we simply do not need at all, and links to our current "in-house" articles would be adequately replaced with links directly to Wikipedia. - Meco (talk, contribs) 14:31, September 13, 2010 (UTC)

I put all the articles about Earth locations that I could find into a new category. They include Asia, Chicago, Germany, Italy, Japan, Rome, Russia, South America, United States of America, and Venice. Those locations all only exist on Earth except for Chicago, since there is also a Chicago settlement in the Koprulu Sector. This should be helpful because the Earth locations are all quite ancillary to the StarCraft universe and this way they are not mixed in with the locations elsewhere in the galaxy that are much more commonly found in the StarCraft universe. If I recall correctly, a number of the Earth locations are mentioned in the manual for Brood War when discussing the history of how the United Earth Directorate came into being, and then a few others like Venice, Rome, and Chicago are mentioned in maps or in lore. --The Overmind 00:31, September 16, 2010 (UTC)
