Technicians and engineers design, build and maintain equipment. They are common both among the terran and protoss in order to design and maintain the hardware they field on the battlefields of the Koprulu Sector.
Terran technicians which work on subwarp engines are known as "warp rats".[1]
The protoss use elite engineers known as phase-smiths for the optimization of their weapons, armor, and spacefaring ships. They are used both the Khalai and Nerazim.[2]
