Optional Fields

The following are some notes on optional fields.

  • game
    • Determines categorization.
    • Use SC2 to sort the article into StarCraft II categories.
  • bgcolor
    • Manually sets the background color of the header text.
    • If using hex triplet (ex. #000000) the # must be replaced with #.
  • fgcolor
    • Manually sets the foreground color of the header text.
    • If using hex triplet (ex. #000000) the # must be replaced with #.
  • race
    • Should be Human, Infested Terran, Protoss, Terran, Zerg, or Hybrid.
    • Determines which supply term, supply icon, and vespene gas icon to use.
    • Determines which StarCraft unit category to sort the article.
    • If Human, nocat must be active and categories specified manually.
    • If categorization is used, the argument is case-sensitive.
  • size
    • For StarCraft I units only. (For StarCraft II units, look at collision, type and armortype.)
  • type
    • Unit type (as in biological, mechanical, massive, psionic, etc.)
  • armortype
    • Light, armored or neither.
  • transcapacity
    • The number of transport slots a unit has.
  • transsize
    • The number of transport slots a takes.
  • broodling
    • The number of broodlings released by a zerg structure on death. Can vary from 0 to ... lots.
  • campcost
    • The special campaign cost for building a unit. For instance, a cybercat predator costs 15 research points, quite apart from any mineral or vespene cost.
  • baseunit
    • The unit that this unit is a variant of but for which there is no gameplay ability transforming one into the other.
    • Useful for hero and NPC units. (For instance, the base unit of a Hunter Killer is a hydralisk.)
  • parent
    • Lists the units this addon structure may be attached to.
    • Use with addon.
  • addons
    • Lists the addon structures that may be attached to this unit.
    • Use with parent.
  • evolvesfrom
    • Lists the units that this unit is created from. (For instance, a mutalisk evolves from a larva, a baneling evolves from a zergling.)
    • Use with evolvesto.
  • evolvesto
    • Lists the units that this unit may upgrade into. (For instance, a zergling can evolve to a baneling.)
    • Use with evolvesfrom.
  • creepbonus
    • The speed a zerg ground unit moves on creep. (Or is this a move speed bonus?)
  • priority
    • The priority a unit is assigned for targeting. High-value units, especially spellcasters, tend to have a high priority, causing other units to target them first.
  • killscore
    • The score you get for killing a unit. High value units are worth more. This adds to your score screen at the end of the game.
  • makescore
    • The score you get for making a unit. High value units are worth more. This adds to your score screen at the end of the game.
  • structure
    • Flags that this unit is a building. Categorize into "<>
  • concatbott
    • Set this to an non-empty value to remove the top margin and border of the box. This allows the box to be attached to another box from the top.
    • The box being attached should have an option to remove its bottom margin and border.
    • Also prevents name and race was being displayed.
  • concattop
    • Set this to an non-empty value to remove the bottom margin and border of the box. This allows the box to be attached to another box from the bottom.

Categorization

The template may automatically categorize an article into multiple categories if the following fields are non-empty.

  • campaign
    • StarCraft game race campaign buildings/units
  • cancel
    • Canceled StarCraft game race buildings/units
    • Canceled StarCraft game race
  • hero
    • StarCraft game race heroes
  • npc
    • StarCraft game race NPC buildings/units
  • unused
    • Unused StarCraft game race buildings/units

To disable automatic categorization use:

  • nocat
    • Set to any non-empty value to disable automatic categorization.

If none of the above are set, the article will be automatically placed into:

    • StarCraft game race buildings/units

To sort into a buildings category, structure must be non-empty.

Deprecated Fields

The following fields should no longer be used.

  • groundattack, airattack, cooldown, range
    • Old weapon stat fields
    • Use gun#item fields instead.
  • trans
    • Replace with transcapacity and transsize
