Temple Guardians are an unusual unit in Insurrection. They were a powerful strain of hydralisk used by the Incubus Brood.

Temple Guardians took part in a battle between the Incubus Brood and the terran New Dresdin Outlaws.

From the name, one might assume that the four hydralisks accompanying the Siren Queen would be Temple Guardians, but for unspecified reasons, this was not implemented.
