Lieutenant Thomas Dufay was a member of the United Earth Directorate Expeditionary Force to the Koprulu Sector. He saw action in the city of Graschek. He later reflected on the unwholesome experience.

Dufay and his company were ordered to enter the town and destroy an enemy logistics base located in the city. However, due to its maze-like structure, they lost their bearings en route, the force taking around 50% casualties.
