Images[edit source]

When you're uploading images, can you please remember to categorize them? I can live without using the standard name format, but categorization now will save us from problems down the road.--Hawki (talk) 12:42, May 28, 2020 (UTC)

Don't worry about the file names too much. Right now, categorization is the main focus. You can look at how I categorized the files, just follow the naming procedure if you want to give it time.--Hawki (talk) 14:15, May 28, 2020 (UTC)

Classic Terran skins[edit source]

Liking the work you've done keeping the skins thematic, but one question on the classic terran skins, I noted they use a Terran Confederacy decal. Is that an in-game one I've missed or the fan made one? While you're right that it'd certainly be more thematic, we try to keep "pure" to SCII assets rather than fan ones. It straddles a line we have with fanworks, especially when presenting Blizzard-made skins. If it is fanmade, it'd be better to use the Sons of Korhal decal they have in SCII instead to keep it to that era while still using Blizzard-made assets. Certainly not a complaint about using the flag itself as much as it might sound like it (since we have the Confederate flag in a ton of other places), just its source.

Also perhaps the War Pigs one for the mercenary marine (since the description says they're War Pigs), though the merc one you used works perfectly fine as well.

But I do appreciate that level of attention to detail, just figured that'd be a note. Once again thank you for getting the higher res images, if/when we get future War Chests I'll make sure that if you aren't the one to add them we try to emulate the level of detail and image quality. --Subsourian (talk) 17:42, May 28, 2020 (UTC)

Thank you for the clarifying and yes i will from now on use Blizzard-made decal instead of fan-made, i was feeling right and wrong at the same time actually and i think you're right, the Sons of Korhal decal feels better (CyberSpectre (talk) 01:56, May 29, 2020 (UTC))

Co-op Missions[edit source]

I see you are good at making units and structures (in particular from Co-op). But can you add the missing units and structures (Assault Galleon (default and with Drone Hangar), Strike Fighter Platform, Missile Turret (Mira and Nova variants), Spec Ops Ghost (female model), Nova Terra (Assault Mode) etc)? --NemesisHunter97 (talk) 11:20, May 29, 2020 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for the reminders, i'm currently doing all the units and when i finish i will start doing structures, it takes a lot of time to switch between map files as all the dependencies have to be loaded first. (CyberSpectre (talk) 11:41, May 29, 2020 (UTC))

Minor fix: Zagara's Zerglings (Swarmling strain), Banelings (Splitter strain) and Queens use Leviathan's Brood skin. NemesisHunter97 (talk) 17:44, May 30, 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for the help, but Zagara has Hydralisk too doesn't she? From what i know the Hydralisks use Hydralisk Impaler Strain model (CyberSpectre (talk) 18:15, May 30, 2020 (UTC))

Zagara's Hunter Killers (Hydralisks) use the Impaler Strain model only in Direct Strike. In regular Co-op, they use the Leviathan's Brood model. Before Zagara started using Leviathan's Brood skins, these Hunter Killers used the enlarged Basic Hydralisk model. --NemesisHunter97 (talk) 18:39, May 30, 2020 (UTC)

Hello. And again a small correction: Stetmann's Mecha Corruptor model is equipped with missile batteries that are located on the sides of the body, unlike the usual Simulant Corruptor model. Well, Mecha Hydralisk after the upgrade gets a rocket launcher located behind of his head. NemesisHunter97 (talk) 14:08, May 31, 2020 (UTC)

I've been searching around the Model Data and found out there are 4 Stetmann's Coop Units: Brood Lord, Corruptor, Hydralisk, Ultralisk with only the Corruptor that has the missile batteries, the Hydralisk doesn't have any model that has a rocket launcher behind its head I think we should wait for the next War Chest to see if Blizzard add the model into the assets --CyberSpectre (talk) 16:16, May 31, 2020 (UTC)

A small correction: Karax's Colossus use the unique Purifier model, which was in the Legacy of the Void campaign. --NemesisHunter97 (talk) 14:14, June 1, 2020 (UTC)

Golden Age recolor[edit source]

I don't have a strong opinion on it, but yeah having them be violet would work well since it matches the store page/promo materials. Personally I prefer teal visually (since it's the hero color as well), but in terms of what fits the skinset probably better with purple. The rest seem good to me though. --Subsourian (talk) 00:45, June 6, 2020 (UTC)

Umojans too are blue in their stora page/promo materials instead of white. For the others I continue to think using the TC I suggested (magenta for default Zerg, teal for default Protoss, rose for Mira's Marauders, Mengsk TC for Cerberus) would be better (and change the Purifier Mothership decal with the one of the Purifiers).--PRISON KEEPER (talk) 09:46, June 6, 2020 (UTC)
I must admid the Umojan does look good in blue but the default skinset already has it, the reason why i chose White as the default color for the Umojan is because in the HotS campaign cinematic where Jim Raynor walks toward the door with 2 WHITE armor Umojan Marines guarding it. As for Mira's Marauders color should be Rose, i disagree on this, the rose color is actually non-canon color, it only happens if Mira and Horner actually team up which is never real, only in Co-op Missions so Mira's Marauders will always stay Pink as in Campaign
But the campaign never have a specific Team Color for the factions, I nearly ever had the impression they do this:
  • Player: blue (if Terran or Protoss), violet (if Zerg)
  • Enemy: red or orange
  • Ally: teal (if Terran or Protoss), light green (if Zerg)
I'm not kidding, they nearly ever use this scheme. Tal'darim when are enemy are red, when they are ally they are teal. Defenders of Man, when they are enemy they are orange, when they are ally they are teal. Leviathan/Zagara's Brood when is enemy is red, when is ally is light green.
The Co-Op in the other hand give a specific team color for each faction, and I loved this. If we must see the campaign, well... Mira's Marauders never used the Mira's Marauders skins, that skinset is used just in the Co-Op where her color is rose (and for me suit a lot better then pink)--PRISON KEEPER (talk) 11:51, June 6, 2020 (UTC)
I did a little research, the Versus skinsets were released after the End War, which means everything could have changed a lot after that so i will start using Co-op mission colors for the Skin page, it's not like Blizzard gonna say what or what not canon about the colors anyway CyberSpectre (talk) 08:39, June 8, 2020 (UTC)
Perfect :D are just missing the Zerg structures with magenta color and the Purifier Mothership with proper decal. I don't understand why use tuscany as TC for Umojans...--PRISON KEEPER (talk) 10:33, June 9, 2020 (UTC)
Tychus SCV(slightly modified) and Medivac models use Umojan Skin so i think Tuscany should be the temporary color and wait if there would be a Coop commander that uses the Umojan skin set with different color.CyberSpectre (talk) 11:57, June 9, 2020 (UTC)
Revisiting this, while I agree it's a solid of a reason as any most Tychus skins are slightly modified from Umojan skins. Personally I liked the white version you did earlier best, since it's reflective of the campaign versions we see, though there's a case for aqua or blue. At the very least those have a presidence rooted in what we see in the campaign as well as the art books (also I think they only made them blue because white is not a traditional team color). I also got some comments from outside of the wiki that weren't big on using brown as the Umojan color just because it was visually unappealing. But also color is a pretty small detail for these sort of things. --Subsourian (talk) 15:32, June 10, 2020 (UTC)

New War Chest 6 Structure Skinset[edit source]

So a new building skinset for the Ihan-rii, Knights of Tyrador and Cerberus Program just dropped today. I wanted to know if you were planning on adding them, just so we don't extract them at the same time. If so I'll just make the shell of the descriptions in the skins article and not mess with it from there. --Subsourian (talk) 21:04, June 9, 2020 (UTC)

Of course i do, thanks for telling me in advance, i'll get right into it CyberSpectre (talk) 01:31, June 10, 2020 (UTC)
Added the new structures skinsets for three races: Terran Tyrador, Zerg Cerberus(including the lil' larva), Protoss Ihan-rii.
Added three Classic structures for each race: Classic Command Center with Orbital Command and Planetary Fortress; Classic Hatchery, Lair, Hive; Classic Nexus. CyberSpectre (talk) 10:35, June 10, 2020 (UTC)
Much appreciated! --Subsourian (talk) 13:51, June 10, 2020 (UTC)

Red and bright red[edit source]

I think you didn't noticed, but... the red color in the campaign is different from the red color of the co-op. The co-op (and so, the Amon's units) have a bright red, but the campaign red (so Dominion ecc...) use a more normal red. So... if you want make units with their respective TC, the Mengsk's units should have red, not bright red.--PRISON KEEPER (talk) 17:40, June 11, 2020 (UTC)

Tyrador TC[edit source]

I noticed in the official images, the Tyrador's TC is actually purple, but the one used for the images here is violet. Won't be better if we use the same TC of the official images (purple)? (and I still think the Umojans should use white or blue TC, tuscany seems really wrong for them XD)--PRISON KEEPER (talk) 11:27, June 17, 2020 (UTC)

I've updated them all, enjoy!--CyberSpectre (talk) 06:18, July 19, 2020 (UTC)

Unit and structure color variations[edit source]

I'm planning on making a page that has every PvP color of every single unit and structure in the Skin page which will help players to choose their own favorite/eye catching color of unit(s) and/or structure(s) they owned before proceeding to a multiplayer/arcade game. CyberSpectre (talk) 01:01, July 25, 2020 (UTC)

Dogs of War[edit source]

Hi. I noticed that you added Cerberus Zerg models (Zergling, Hydralisk, Mutalisk, Ultralisk) to the corresponding Enthralled Zerg units articles. That's good, but their TeamColor doesn't match that of Commander Arcturus Mengsk. So I ask: can you recolor them? --NemesisHunter97 (talk) 9:27, July 27, 2020 (UTC)

The color i used for the enthrall zergs was Mengsk Color in the Editor, It could be of lighting as i set the lighting in the editor as Default Light. CyberSpectre (talk) 11:12, July 27, 2020 (UTC)
I can't say for sure, but it seems like Enthralled Zerg is purple. Perhaps a little closer to the color of Commander Zagara. --NemesisHunter97 (talk) 12:06, July 27, 2020 (UTC)
It seems like i've watched too many CtG videos, he always uses the default green and the enthrall zerg/Cerberus Project zerg are gonna go through a color change to Dark Blue(Zagara Coop default color), the Violet color doesn't make the Zerg light to be brighter CyberSpectre (talk) 13:09, July 27, 2020 (UTC)
Not sure if I understand that last paragraph, so I will just state what I observe:
Default color for Enthralled Zergs are indeed not the red of Mengsk, but a kind of purple/pink, maybe a neutral player color (could not see anything relevant in map editor)
If settings are to use custom colors, then Enthralled Zergs end up being the same color as Mengsk. May be confusing if that color happen to be red.
-- UndeadStarSC (talk) 20:00, July 27, 2020 (UTC)
I've been watching some players play Mengsk with his default color in the game, the Terran uses Mengsk/brown red color and the Enthrall Zerg uses Violet color but when i see their light antennas look much brighter than usual so i have my doubt and test them in the editor, turns out Violet and Dark Blue(Zagara Coop Default) are very similar but Dark Blue makes the units' light antennas look much brighter. Pull Request: Desolate Queen[edit source]

In the meantime while we get the pages running, can you pull the Heart of the Swarm ghost Kerrigan model (minus the rifle)? Desolate Queen changes her to that model but we don't have a good one on the wiki yet. --Subsourian (talk) 16:11, July 31, 2020 (UTC)

It's done, The Heart of the Swarm Kerrigan page needs portrait for De-zerg Kerrigan as well. CyberSpectre (talk) 10:43, August 1, 2020 (UTC)

Gorgon[edit source]

Really low priority request. Could you pull the Gorgon when you aren’t too busy with anything else? The one we have now doesn’t match the higher standard you’re setting. -- Halosammy (talk) 05:04, August 3, 2020 (UTC)

It's done, enjoy CyberSpectre (talk) 10:24, August 3, 2020 (UTC)
