- Zed Kazan(src)
Doctor Zed Kazan is a medical professional who operates the infirmity in Camp Pitcairn on Cavir.
Biography[]
Years after the End War, Doctor Kazan ran medical operations in Camp Pitcairn on Cavir. He delivered immunizations to the soldiers of the base due to hostile pathogens on the planet.
Lieutenant Shivani Singh arrived on Cavir, but lacked any immunizations. Zedk was impressed that the lieutenant knew of the various threats on Cavir, but scolded her for not getting the vaccinations beforehand.[1]
After the failed scouting operation that led to the death of Private Sofia Nantes, Singh confided in Kazan, asking if it was her fault, but saying they had a responsibility to remove the miners. To make a point, Kazan took her to see him give medication to colonists at the base camp. He helped out a young girl named Janine Ishii, and Singh chastised them for illegally being on Cavir, to which her mother retorted with her not knowing what they had been through on the planet.[2]
After Singh and Sergeant Tiller were nearly killed in an attempted assassination, Kazan treated their injuries. Weeks after the incident, he cleared them both for active duty.[3]
Not long after, a massive wave of zerg descended on Camp Pitcairn, forcing the Dominion to ally with the miners and the duplicitous Tiger's Claw mercenaries. Kazan stayed behind the lines to take care of the wounded, helping those bleeding out. He was assisted by John Rosenberg, who went to get him more plasma, when a lurker burst through the ground and impaled him with spikes. The lurker than pounced on the doctor.[4]
Notes[]
A scanner in Kazan's infirmary reads "UNSC." This is likely an easter egg referencing the United Nations Space Command from the Halo series, a universe which Dark Horse has published a number of works in.
